This is such an exciting time of the year! It's been fun watching Riley participating in all the festivities and he is truly enjoying them this year. He says "HO! HO! HO!" when we talk about Santa and likes to identify all the ornaments on the tree. He's gotten the hang of unwrapping presents and has even learned to gratefully thank the giver with a hug!

It seems the older we get and the more responsibilities we have during the holidays (e.g. shopping, cooking, decorating, parties), we lose sight of why we celebrate Christmas. My prayer for him as he grows up is that he will keep all the fun and festivities in perspective and remember the REAL meaning of Christmas. Brother Mike used the analogy last week in his sermon that we become "too old to hear the bells of Christmas." I pray that you will not be "too old" or too busy to hear the bells this year!
